Selecting Two Partners

It is entirely up to you which horses you select for breeding, however there are some basic requirements we check with the breeding note

- Partners must be of opposite gender (One mare one stallion) 
- Must NOT carry any harmful genes such as blindness or other inherited diseases. 
- Must be BLUP tested, the higher the overall BLUP and particularly the Type the better parent the horse is. There is no minimum score, but a low scoring stallion is not a good choice for a breeding 
- Must not be related (If a foal with inbreeding is planned, you will be given a warning. If you persist and continue with the breeding, the horse will be put down. 
-Both mare and stallion must be above 5 years of age 

When picking a partner it is essential that you check their BLUP scores, as this can pass onto their foals! It is up to the individual breeding rules of the Sire and Dam's owner(s) as to whether a breeding pic is required! 

Sending in the Breeding

Once you have secured (payed for if payment is necessary) you may send in the breeding note:

Roll for Extras? [Yes/No]

It is the responisbilty of the future owner of the foal to send in the breeding note. You will be responded with two Geno options (based on the geno's of the sire and dam), an ID number and the option to have your foal designed. If you choose to design the foal yourself, you must use the group lineart: Canvasare Foal Sheet

Rolling for Extras

If you chose yes in rolling for extras a number will be randomly generated using Random.org between 1-30. Depending on the number your foal may gain the following:

Twins [1-10] - In this case you will be given FOUR geno options to choose from 
Chimera [11-20]
Somatic [21-30]

You may resell one of the twins back to the group, which will give your mare CAPTS. (Please see the CAPTS page)

Getting the Design Accepted 

To get the design accepted you must upload it and request it's submission to the 'foal designs folder'. Then, please be patient while we check over the foal's lineage (put this in the description) and accept your designs. If there is something wrong with your design, you will be declined with ideas to improve it. Once your design is accepted you will have 30 days to register your foal with a ref
